Enemy Spawn
New enemies are put on the board during Primary Spawn and Secondary Spawn. During Primary Spawn you have to chose enemies from the Primary Spawn Pool,
and during the Secondary Spawn you have to chose enemies from the Secondary Spawn Pool.
- Check the threat meter. The number on Threat Meter determines how many enemies you have to spawn.
- Pick monster(s) of your choice from the Spawn Pool. If there are not enough monsters in the pool, you pick as many as you can.
- Chose spawn points and place enemies. Chi'leens must spawn first. After they have spawned there is no particular order in which the enemies spawn.
- Insectoids
- Insectoids spawn near any nest of the players choice.
- Place the insectoid adjacent to the Nest.
- If there are no room in the adjacent squares, you chose any of the diagonal squares.
- If you are spawning a Chi'leen, this will push away lesser monsters to make room for itself.
Observe that this is not an "attack" push so this does not trigger a failure event.
- If there are no room in the adjacent or diagonal squares, then the insectoid remains in the spawn pool.
- Cultists
- Cultists spawn near any trapdoor of the players choice.
- If there are no room in the adjacent squares, you chose any of the diagonal squares.
- If there are no room in the adjacent or diagonal squares, then the cultist spawn on the trapdoor square.
- If there are no room in the adjacent, diagonal squares or on the trapdoor, then the cultist remains in the spawn pool.
- If you cannot spawn the enemy in range 1 of any of the spawn points on in the scenario, then it remains in the spawn pool.
- If you did not manage to spawn the enemy of your choice, according the the rules above,
you have to chose a different enemy and try to spawn that one instead.
